I did my Open Water Course in Feb 2007 and came to Coral Divers with my family in June to do my first ocean dives. The Divemaster on our dives told me about the CDC program and it sounded very interesting. I was unsure of what to study and decided to take a gap year and becoming a diving instructor seemed like an excellent idea. In February 2009 I started the CDC course. In May I did my Divemasters and moved directly onto my Instructors because of my previous dive experiences. By the end of June I was a qualified PADI Instructor. I was asked to work as a beach controller and also to do some office work where I learned how to process PIC’s, order stock, do email queries to PADI and later on started managing which instructors did what courses. During this time I also had the opportunity to do my skippers and a gear service course. I worked fulltime for Coral Divers until the beginning of January 2010. I then started studying but asked if it was possible to come down every holiday and help out. December 2010 I also decided to do my Staff Instructors. Originally I came and worked as an instructor every holiday but later on only came down in December for the busy period, where I would come down when I finished with exams at university and stayed until just after Christmas, assisting on the IDC and working as an Instructor and Divemaster for Coral Divers. Every time I come back to work my passion for diving and instructing other people on how to dive grows and if possible I will stay a familiar face at Coral.

Coral Divers introduced me to the wonderful world of diving and instilled in me the skills necessary to succeed as a professional in the industry. Without Coral I would never have had the opportunity to travel and dive various parts of the world and experience some of the best that life has to offer. I will forever cherish my time spent at Coral and the memories I have made.

I came to Coral during February 2013 as part of a gap year, where I did my Divemaster and Instructor training. I worked as a Divemaster for 3 months averaging 2 to 3 dives a day and then went on to do my Instructor course. During my last few months at Coral as an instructor I had the chance to certify about 90 people. I have not only gained a tremendous amount of diving experience but also social skills, working in an environment that is not always easy. I now study Bcom Tourism Management but still come back during the holidays to help out and gain more experience.

I arrived at Coral Divers to do the CDC course, knowing absolutely nothing about scuba diving and thinking that 3 months away from home would be way too long. Yes, CDC was a lot of hard work,  but heck, sooo many amazing memories and friends were made! 7 months later and I'm still here : a qualified PADI DiveMaster. I guess time flies by when you're having fun. From Lake Sibaya trips, staff braai's, 'maak 'n jol' outings to simply just diving almost every day, has been a crazy adventure and experience! You come here knowing nothing and nobody and when it's time to leave, you leave a part of your heart behind. "Sodwana Bay: where your dreams begin and reality ends.

I chose Coral Divers to come and do my Dive masters and dive master experience phase in November 2014. I am only a month into my experience phase and I have really enjoyed my time here. The diving here is insane and it only gets better.

I started my CDC (Career Development Course) in 2011, and it was the BEST decision of my whole life . When I came here I had already been diving for 10 years, but in 1 year at Coral I learnt more than in the previous years together. I have always wanted to live at the beach, so after school, I made to the leap and join the CDC. I have made life long friends that are as close as family. Everyday is different there is something amazing everywhere you look. From dives, the beach and SodwanaBay (World heritage site). Coral Divers teaches you a lot from diving, to people skills and to the business of diving.

After gaining experience as an instructor, I left to go work in Egypt for a year. I enjoyed it but nothing there came close to Coral Divers. It's like being part of a big family a place where you belong. I have since returned to Coral and became part of the management team. Every day I wake up and know that I will be on the beach doing what I love . Not one day do I regret making the choice of coming to Coral Divers. Its like my dream world but just in reality.

The ocean connects me to every thing I know and that’s just how it is!

Coming to Coral Divers, I have achieved more in one year than I did studying a 3 year degree at Tuks University. I came to Coral not knowing a thing about diving. The day I entered the beautiful big blue ocean my life had changed in more ways than one. I am now able to experience a completely amazing world filled with the most incredible creatures. Being in the water is so calming and tranquil. Not only have I seen a whole new world, I have made friends and even family from the people I have met. The saying, 'you don't know what you have till its gone' is very true. Coming from Johannesburg I was very spoilt, I got everything I had wanted. Doing the CDC course was something I was able to do on my own. Through my hard work and efforts I became an open water scuba instructor. I do not have a single regret about any decision I have made. This CDC program is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I started my journey at Coral in November 2013 and I am now currently a beach controller and manager too. The course had opened so many opportunities for me. I am able to experience the world through the eyes of the big blue ocean. The world as a whole has so much to offer an individual, it's up to you whether you want to take part of it and dance with the stars. Diving is a passion, art and the love of the ocean. No matter where I am, my heart will always belong to the ocean.

I arrived on the 1 of March as a dive master and did my DM experience phase for 3 months and progressed onto my instructors in the June. I’ve done 6 months of instructor experience. Coral Divers and the friends I have made helped me come out of my shell because I was very shy when I first arrived. It has been one of the best experiences of my life.
