The PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) is an 8 day program to develop your classroom, confined and open water teaching abilities. The course prepares the candidate for the 2 day Instructor Examination (IE) that follows the IDC.
The IDC is about teaching you how to teach, not about covering what you already know. You are expected to know the PADI Instructor manual you received as part of your Divemaster course, as well as having honed your dive skills.
